Our Purpose

Our Purpose is to bring glory to God by completing the work He has given us to do (John 17:4).

Our Mission

Our Mission is to help every person discover and develop a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ as we grow together in grace and truth (Matthew 28:18-20).

GracePointe's Elders

Bobby Gordon

Bobby Gordon

Bobby was born in Shreveport, Louisiana as the youngest of four children and into a Pastor's family.  When I was seven, I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sin and come into my life. One year later, I got brave enough to make my decision to follow Christ public and was baptized.

We moved to Hartselle, Alabama when I was 15.  In my teen years, I struggled with faith and obedience to Christ.  However, in my early twenties, God became powerfully real to me during a difficult time in my life.  His grace began setting me free from the guilt, shame and power of my sin.  A personal transformation started taking place as God's Spirit helped me grow in my love for Jesus, His Word and His people.

Angie and I met when we were both serving as summer missionaries in 1985 and were married in August of 1986.  She graduated from UAB and I graduated from Samford University in 1989.  We moved to Fort Worth, Texas and both graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in December of 1992.

After pastoring Memorial Baptist Church in Decatur, Alabama, we joined a church planting team and started RocketCity Community Church (now CrossPointe Church) in 1995.  In 1998, we started The Church at Hampton Cove (now Rivertree Church).  In 2007, we started Legacy Baptist Church which merged with Celebration Baptist Church in 2010 and re-launched as GracePointe Baptist Church.

Family is very important to me!  We have 7 children (3 biological, 2 adopted and 2 foster).  Now the kids are getting married and grandchildren have started to arrive.  I love my family, our church family and our community. May God empower us to Rescue Souls, Restore Families, and Remember the Poor.
